Installation instructions/tips:
Tip 1 – Clips:
1. Check in advance whether the clips are suitable for your solar frames and whether your spike strips are compatible with this type of installation.
2. Place the spike strip flush against the module frame (the strip must not protrude beyond the module frame).
3. First attach the clip to the top of the edge module and then press the clip firmly against the module frame at the bottom.
4. We recommend using 4–5 clips for a 1 m strip.
5. The solar clip will be deformed during disassembly and can therefore no longer be used for a new installation.
Compatible with: 2830V(SCH)
Tip 2 – Adhesive:
Important:
Pay attention to the temperatures! Do not apply adhesive to modules that are too warm, so start as early in the morning as possible (especially in summer, before the panels heat up).
1. Before gluing, all surfaces should be cleaned. Only use alcohol-based cleaners or primers for this (the surface should be free of dust and grease).
2. To ensure good adhesion, glue should be applied to the entire surface (do not use the adhesive sparingly). In addition, the profiles can be roughened with a metal brush or sandpaper. One cartridge should be sufficient to cover the entire surface (no more!). The adhesive should also come out at the sides and through the holes. After application, there should still be a 2 mm thick layer of adhesive between the solar system and the spikes so that the materials can expand. If the spikes are removed, the system will remain undamaged.
For older systems that are no longer under warranty, the PV spikes can also be attached with screws. Please check first that there are no cables running behind the frame.
For the top edge and sides of the solar panel, you can use longer spikes and leave them protruding so that pigeons cannot sit on the frame. For the bottom edge of the solar panel, please use shorter spikes so that any snow that slides off does not tear off the tips. Optionally, the protruding spikes can be shortened with bolt cutters. To move the spikes easily, do NOT simply pull them out at the bow, but gently squeeze the individual spikes together at the sides (to release the tension) and move them to the desired length. A major advantage of the adjustable spikes is that they can be easily moved for cleaning or maintenance of the system, thus providing unobstructed access to the system.
Area of application:
Solar systems, photovoltaic systems
